We’re all about the cocktails here in Vegas and pool season is officially upon us here at M. Chances are you’re going to get thirsty soaking up the sun at our pool. But trust us, it’s a good thing! We have a lot of drinks to keep you hydrated because our mixologists are shaking up many more exotic things than your typical Screwdriver (but you can still order those too).

Tropical drink selections that taste as good as they look.

A few of our favorites:

Coco Cabana. This coconut concoction features Bacardi and Cruzan Coconut Rums, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice and a dash of Grenadine.

 Mango Passion. For those who like a little bubbly in the mix this brew has Stoli Citros Vodka, Mango Puree, Fresh Lime Juice and Champagne to top it off.

 Tropical Dream. This blend of booze will have you feeling like you’re on a private island featuring Stoli Vanil Vodka, Cruzan Mango and Banana Rum, Malibu Rum, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice and Grenadine.

Year after year our most popular beverages are our Mojitos. They come in pretty much every flavor you could imagine including Mint, Vanilla Blueberry, Banana Strawberry, Watermelon Guava, Mango Blackberry and our personal favorite Coconut Peach (this blog is cuckoo for coconut).

The event will be hosted by DJ D-Money and he’ll be pouring the sugar on you time after time. Tucked behind Spa Mio you’ll find our fitness center. It offers all the things you’d expect – rowing machines, stair master, treadmills and ellipticals, and a whole array of weight machines and free weights (aren’t they nifty with the M logo?!). You’ll find all the equipment is new, well-maintained and clean. Water and fresh fruit? On the house. Need a towel? We keep ours on ice for you. 

But what is it that really makes the fitness center at M Resort stand out? The view. We certainly offer an array of televisions if it’s the latest news, sports or celebrity gossip you want to catch up on, but if you’re looking for something to really get you motivated, try gazing out at the spectacular Villaggio Del Sole pool and entertainment piazza. It’s hard not to want to do 10 more reps or 15 more minutes when those azure waters are staring back your way, filled with frolicking summer guests.

This is a truly great night for wine and music lovers, where you can sip more than 50 wines under the stars, and oh yes poolside, while enjoying the live reggae sounds of Michael Black and Jah Guide band and Los Angeles sensation Peter Goetz with his festival band. More than 25 wineries will be represented so don’t forget to sample selections from Rodney Strong, Jus Soli, Davis Bynum, George Wines, Wilson Creek, Kim Crawford, and Rock ‘n Roll Wine’s own award-winning wines “Reggae Rhapsody” and “The Grotto”.

What about those performers? Did you know that beneath that stage you’ll find a rather swank green room with private access and all the creature comforts the headliners could need? It’s only a bit more than a year since we opened here at M, but we’ve already hosted the likes of Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and the iconic Journey. (You know what they say about Journey right? There are only two kinds of people in this world: people who love Journey and liars).

If you’ve never been to an outdoor concert, it’s something you truly need to do. A concert at Villaggio takes things even a step further – it isn’t an open air sports arena or public park, but a beautiful plaza at an unmistakable resort. Listening to great music in this open setting is an entirely different experience from just about anything you’ll find anywhere else.

What is my job as Executive Director of Sales for the M Resort? Part of it is to ask meeting planners around the country the above question – why not come to the M Resort for your meeting?

Through my discussions and travels to the numerous meeting tradeshows and conventions throughout the year I receive many answers from planners on why they don’t know, don’t want to, or can’t book their meeting at our resort (of course I also hear the – “I can’t wait to have my meeting at your resort!” from planners too, but that’s too easy to talk about).

When I’m out and about or talking to planners my job is to turn those don’t knows, don’t want tos, can’ts into solid bookings for the resort. So what do I tell planners about our resort? It depends on their specific needs and what business objectives they are looking to accomplish, but generally, I tell them, at the M Resort we take a different approach to meetings. We don’t have millions of square feet of meeting space – we weren’t designed to be a massive exposition hotel – but the space we do have is boutique in nature, accommodating the most discriminating of meeting planners. It’s boutique because we want you to feel at home.

At a little more than 60,000 square feet of meeting space and 390 rooms, M caters to small and mid-sized meetings, conferences and group events, offering enough space to handle your group comfortably, but something small enough that you can manage things easily and keep it intimate.

Don’t forget, we also have Thanksgiving menus in all our restaurants that will have you giving thanks to our chefs. Think Ravioli Di Zucca (Ravioli filled with roasted butter nut squash and walnuts in a brown butter sage sauce with parmesan cheese – Marinelli’s) or Cider and Honey Brined Roasted Turkey Breast, savory stuffing with apples and giblet gravy – Terzetto)!

One of the common questions we’ve been getting is – is it really the tallest? YES! We’re taller than Rockefeller (76 ft Norway Spruce) and we’re taller than the Capitol Christmas Tree (85 ft Blue Spruce). We’re even taller than South Coast Plaza’s tree (96-ft White Fir). South Coast Plaza is in Costa Mesa, California for those now wondering.

Our beautiful White Fir will stand proudly at 109 ft.

Our tree will make the approximately 900-mile trip here to be placed in our piazza for the entire city of Las Vegas (and nation) to see. Our piazza was so well-designed that even a hole for the tree was pre-dug during construction. That’s advanced planning at its finest. 

We hope the tree will bring visitors to our great city and also spread a little holiday cheer throughout our community and the nation.

We’ll be sure to post photos of the tree’s arrival, decorating and of course the lighting. We’re also creating a special tree commercial that we’ll post as soon as it’s finished – we might even show some previews.
