“We want to give our guests and locals a different option than what’s available on the Strip,” said Joe Bravo, our Director of Pool and Nightlife Operations. “We’ve done night swims in the past that have been very successful – after all, locals don’t want to fight traffic or crowds. At our night swims, they can relax, swim and enjoy a drink or two while getting the four-star service we’re known for.”

The first night swim kicks off tomorrow with an out-of-this-world beverage favorite – Alien Tequila. The first 50 guests to arrive receive a complimentary souvenir bottle of Alien Tequila and there’s an open vodka bar for ladies from 8-9 pm sponsored by Bud Light and Ultimat Vodka.

With more than 12,000 square feet of space, you have plenty of room to dance under the moon to the music of the Beatclan DJs. If you can’t make it to tomorrow’s night swim, don’t worry. Our next night swim, Mid-Summer’s Night Masquerade Pool Party, promises to be just as dreamy as the name intends. Scheduled for July anyone in costume gets free admission. There will also be an open vodka bar for ladies for the first hour and prizes for the sexiest costumes.

So join us for some swimming under the stars this Friday night. The party starts at 8pm.

Preparing 100,000 square feet of space is a huge task and our team began work as soon as last season ended. Although we make improvements year-round, the pace really starts picking up in February when all of the last-minute details are being finalized. In preparation for the official opening, the pool equipment goes through inspection and servicing as well as deep cleaning. The pools are drained and acid washed, furniture is evaluated for repair and replacement needs and our decks are power washed so they are spotless for guests. The last step is moving over 400 chairs and numerous daybeds out of storage and into position.

After cleaning and servicing, it's time to stock up! Our pool bars go through a lot of liquid and we can't blame them; it gets hot out here in the desert. Both bars are fully stocked to satisfy our guests' orders for cocktails, beers, bottle service and drinks by the pitcher. Mojitos anyone?

Our large deck can accommodate up to 6,000 people, but on a busy weekend you'll probably see about 1,500 guests throughout the day. With that many people, we need a lot of towels. On an average weekday we go through over 800 towels and on a weekend over 2,000!

DayDream is now open to the public for your pool and sun bathing needs and our Main Pool will be opening on May 1. We have a quarter of a million gallons of (heated) water in all of our pools and over 60 trained team members to make sure your every need is taken care of. We're all about the cocktails here in Vegas and pool season is officially upon us here at M. Chances are you're going to get thirsty soaking up the sun at our pool. But trust us, it's a good thing! We have a lot of drinks to keep you hydrated because our mixologists are shaking up many more exotic things than your typical Screwdriver (but you can still order those too).

A few of our favorites:

Coco Cabana. This coconut concoction features Bacardi and Cruzan Coconut Rums, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice and a dash of Grenadine.

Mango Passion. For those who like a little bubbly in the mix this brew has Stoli Citros Vodka, Mango Puree, Fresh Lime Juice and Champagne to top it off.

Tropical Dream. This blend of booze will have you feeling like you're on a private island featuring Stoli Vanil Vodka, Cruzan Mango and Banana Rum, Malibu Rum, Orange Juice, Pineapple Juice and Grenadine.

To get you ready for the Vegas pool season, we thought we'd provide you with a few pointers on how to party poolside in Vegas. We'd love to hear your tips and pointers too!

• Go local. If you're visiting Vegas and want a different experience apart from the crowds go local. There are plenty of options (like the M, wink, wink) that are just a few miles from the Strip that provide beautiful pools, amenities and service - often at a much better price.
• Reserve a cabana. If you are planning to make a day of it, we suggest paying the extra money for a cabana. These covered areas are great retreats from the sun and usually come equipped with plush sofas, flat-screen TVs, sound systems, refrigerators, misters and sometimes even your own personal attendant. Here at the M, you can even receive an in-cabana massage from our four-star spa if you're willing to spend a little extra money.
• Use sunscreen. If you're visiting our wonderful sun-filled city for the first time, the Vegas sun is relentless. Plan accordingly and bring sunscreen. You don't want to be sitting in your hotel room with a bottle of aloe while your friends are getting ready to head out for a night on the town.
• Bring friends. Everything is better if you have a buddy…or two. The cabanas are usually large enough to fit 8-10 people, so split the costs and have a great afternoon with your friends.
• Celebrate responsibly. Remember, drinking in the sun will get you inebriated faster than normal. Be respectful of others and responsible when it comes to consuming alcoholic beverages and always off-set with water.
• Choose wisely. There are plenty of options for pools in Vegas – local, Strip, club, European, family. If you want to make sure you have a good time, do your research. Check the pool websites, chat forums and call the venues to make sure you know about the costs and the atmosphere upfront. The last thing you want is to show up ready for a family day at the pool only to realize the pool is European.
