Loveshack Shacks Up in Ravello Lounge

Get your entertainment fix in Ravello Lounge on Friday and Saturday nights! With a calendar full of different acts we’re excited to announce our next headliner for the month of November! Starting this Friday, our lounge is taking a trip back to the 80’s with nostalgia band, Loveshack. They’ll be performing all your favorites from back in the day and rocking the stage until 1am! They’re known as being the first 80’s tribute group of its kind in the country.

We caught up with the band (in character of course) to give you the down low on their act.

How many members are there in Loveshack?

There are six of us total. Imagine seeing Devo and Madonna on lead vocals, Adam Ant on Bass, Billy Idol on drums and Slash on guitar at the same time, but then we up the ante when Michael Jackson shows up in our second set! Whenever we play, you’re seeing the best band on stage at that moment!

What type of music do you perform?

All the best dance music of the 80’s – music to remind you how big your hair was, how cool Members Only jackets were, and how much Aqua Net you used in 1985.

What are the band’s favorite songs?

Anything from Madonna, Depeche Mode, Bon Jovi, The Go-Go’s, Duran Duran, Gary Numan…. wait, does any remember Gary Numan?

Are there any particular artists that inspire your performances?

We are totally self inspired and extremely modest, when you see the band play you’ll know what we mean.

Have you always been 80’s music fans?

Since the 1970’s

How long has the group been together?

Since Madonna was still a virgin.

How did the group come together?

Our tour buses crashed into each other at the US festival in ‘83 all trying to get the VIP parking spot. While waiting for AAA, we planned world domination through 80’s music, and thus Loveshack was born!

What’s the best part of performing at M and Ravello Lounge?

Aside from having a great dance floor, great drink specials, friendly bar staff, enthusiastic crowds, and one of the most beautiful lounges in Las Vegas, it has lots of glass so we can constantly look at ourselves!

A Pool Concert That’s Free?

We can’t think of a lot of words that get people more excited than the word FREE. The four-letter word is oftentimes accompanied by an asterisk or some sort of stipulation….free with the purchase of something, free if you sign up for something. You know the drill.

Today however, we’re pretty excited to tell you about our poolside concerts…and the best part? Oh yes….they are FREE! No catches, no gimmicks. Admission to our nighttime pool concerts is absolutely free!

As you may or may not know we love providing our guests with entertainment offerings here at the M Resort. Whether your rocking out to the next big reggae artist at Rock ‘n Roll Wine’s Tasting Room and Sound Bar event inside Hostile Grape or groovin’ to one of the high-energy lounge acts we have at Lobby Bar or Ravello Lounge, there’s always something to get your toe-tappin’ in our casino.

This past Saturday we launched a new entertainment option for M, ‘M Pool Live!’ This free ongoing outdoor summer concert series is set in the lovely backdrop of our pool (an ideal venue if you ask us) and gives guests, like yourself, the opportunity to take a dip under the stars and drink, dance, mix and mingle all in our backyard. And did we mention it’s FREE? That’s right absolutely no cost to anyone who wants to come out and enjoy. We know, it’s a sweet deal (you’re welcome.)

Performer Wes Quave (who just came off opening for the legendary Prince) kicked-off the series for us this past Saturday night.

His nine-piece band and hot dancers who helped set the mood for the evening.

Guests enjoyed our poolside gaming pit, playing Black Jack all night long.

Specialty cocktails were served; the mojitos were the most popular choice (try the Mint Mojito this Saturday!)

Some guests relaxed around the stage in our lounge chairs while others took a nighttime dip in the water.

If you didn’t get a chance to experience ‘M Pool Live!’ for yourself yet, you have a chance this Saturday night. Daybeds by our pool are offered on a first-come first-serve basis (read: also free) and cabanas are open for reservations too.

So mark your calendar for this Saturday and come and visit us. Plus, to sweeten the deal even more we’re offering FREE Miller Lite beer from 7-8pm this Saturday!

Bring on the madness

So imagine it’s April 4 and since you’re not at the final game of the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament, you’re instead sitting in the M Resort race & sports book, or perhaps at 32 Degrees. The action is intense – fast breaks, big points and unexpected runs. What did you take? The over? Maybe a first-half money line? Nope, you took the next free-throw would be made. What? That’s madness!

It sure is – March Madness. If you haven’t tried In-Running Wagering technology from Cantor Gaming here at M, the tournament is the perfect time. The folks over at Cantor asked themselves “Why should the betting action stop when the game starts?” The simple answer was that it shouldn’t. From one of the betting stations in the book or from a mobile tablet you can use in areas beyond the book here at the property, the betting action at M matches the action on the court.

If sports betting isn’t your thing though, have no fear. The property is filled with great venues which are in turn filled with lots of TVs for all your basketball viewing pleasure. On select dates between March 17 – April 4, you’ll also be able to join in some viewing parties in Ravello Lounge hosted by Mike O’Brian from KKLZ 96.3. We probably shouldn’t put this one up since you can’t see it anymore, but it was just too cool not to. Our Dragon & Lion Dance in celebration of Chinese New Year was spectacular! There are videos and more pics available on our Facebook page if you’re interested!

Ravello Lounge isn’t just a great place to see live entertainment – it’s also home to some pretty amazing technology. Not only are there more than 40 screens built into the walls that can showcase the onstage entertainment, but the large panels next to the screens can be programmed to visually match audio beats and more through visual representation.

Spring will be sprung in the not too distant future and you know what that means?! Wedding season. If you’re looking for a spectacular custom cake creation for your special day or other special occasion, we can make just about anything you can dream up.

And speaking of cake, let’s talk Baby Cakes. These are some of the custom tiles you’ll find here inspired by European patisseries. It’s the details that make all the difference, not to mention some unbelievably good pastries!

With warmer weather on the way, it’s almost time to start enjoying dining al fresco. Veloce, Marinelli’s, Terzetto and Hash House all feature great outdoor terraces where you can enjoy your meal, the weather and spectacular views of the pool area and Strip.

Hmmm, what to enjoy out on the terrace? How about some of the amazing cocktails Veloce is offering for Happy Hour in their bar & lounge? Red Sangria, Peach White Sangria and Rocks Margaritas with a superb selection of top-shelf tequilas for just $5 are all excellent choices.

Back to those details. When we have meeting/conference groups here with us at M, we do our utmost to show them we appreciate their choosing M Resort. From custom welcome messages on our marquee to these super-cool light-logos displayed in the water features behind check-in, we want you to feel welcome and appreciated.

And when you’re in those meetings? Let’s face it, meeting rooms can be a bit dull at times, but like the rest of M, we did our best to incorporate some amazing fixtures and fittings that add a little extra something.

Okay, so more décor, but you have to admit this is cool. These backlit, woven-metal walls can be found outside Studio B and also inside Spa Mio.

Nobody likes to have to go to the doctor, but it sure is nice to have one right down the corridor. M Family Care is like any other doctor’s office, it’s just located inside M Resort!

Big Game, Big Happenings

It’s almost time for the Big Game and if you live here in Vegas or have visited during this time, you’ll know the Big Game means big happenings. At M Resort we’ll be blowing things out once again with tons of good stuff for our guests and of course lots and lots of TVs where you can catch all the action. It’s shaping up to be one of the best match-ups we’ve seen in a long time, so we want to make sure you’ve got everything you’ll need here at the property to make your super Sunday one to remember.

We’ll be hosting a property-wide Super Sunday Big Game viewing party on Sunday, Feb. 6 where the excitement is guaranteed to go beyond the sports book. View the game in a fun, upbeat atmosphere throughout the property with a live radio remote with KKLZ 96.3, prize giveaways including a ski trip and tickets to a professional football game, food and beverage specials and the lovely Budweiser girls.

Our celebration kicks off at 1 pm with a public viewing party inside Ravello Lounge. Equipped with 42 TVs, you can relax in the lounge’s comfortable seats while enjoying $10 buckets of Bud and Bud Light, $3 Cuervo Orange Margaritas on the rocks and $2 Cuervo shots. Stadium-style food specials start at 2 pm with favorites including hamburgers, buffalo chicken wings, Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches, potato chips and more available for purchase with items starting at just $1.50!

If you’re looking to stay close to the best race & sports book in Vegas or the casino gaming action you’ll find drink specials at 32 Degrees Draft Bar, Lobby Bar and M Bar. Lobby Bar will offer its standard food menu starting at Noon. Drink specials include:

For guests looking to bet on the game, the Cantor-operated race and sports book at the M Resort offers the perfect location. Guests are free to bet traditionally or use Cantor’s In-Running wager, allowing them to bet continuously throughout the game.

The fun doesn’t start or stop with the game however, as New Year’s Eve entertainment headliner Wes Quave returns for encore performances on Thursday and Friday from 9 pm to 1 am and Saturday from 6:30 pm to 2 am in Ravello Lounge.

New Year’s Eve is the biggest holiday of the year here in Vegas. Why? Well, it’s a party of course and there’s nowhere better to party than Sin City. If you’re a local or have been a visitor here for New Year’s Eve, you’ll know that because it’s such a party night, you’ll often end up paying exorbitant prices in restaurants for pre fixe menus and overpriced drinks as well as pretty much feel as if you’ve been robbed getting past that velvet rope at the club. That’s all if you can make your way through the traffic and find somewhere to park. Yikes.

Here at M we’re inviting guests young and old to enjoy our Forbes Four-Star resort your way with a celebration to suit every taste and all price points. Ravello Lounge Turns Vintage Vegas W/ Lon Bronson Band

If you’re looking for amazing live entertainment this Labor Day weekend, look no further than the Lon Bronson Band appearing here at M Resort tonight through Sunday, September 2-5 in our Ravello Lounge. If you’ve never seen the Lon Bronson All-Star Band you’re just plain missing out. This versatile band features Vegas’ top musicians performing Industrial Strength R&B, Rock, Soul and Funk for the discerning live music fan. The band has trumpets, saxophones, vocalists, guitars, drums, dancers – you get the point…they have it all! At more than 19 years, they are the longest running band in Las Vegas history! That stat alone should make you at least a little bit curious to come check them out!

Earlier this month, Drew Carey popped in to Ravello Lounge to enjoy a lil’ Bronson & company as did the well-known lounge singer and entertainer Cook E. Jarr. Lon himself will be the first to tell you that you never know who might jump onstage when his band is performing! “Impromptu guest stars are all part of the show. We never know who might come, and that t definitely makes performances interesting.”

The Band has garnered widespread acclaim and a rich history of headliners and performers who have sat in to perform when passing through town. Performers like Skunk Baxter, The Righteous Brothers, Huey Lewis, Tower of Power, Blood Sweat & Tears, The Temptations, Taylor Dane, David Cassidy, Penn Jillette, The Bare Naked Ladies, Tom Jones, Joe Walsh and the cast of the HBO Drama, The Sopranos have come by in just the past few years.

Now, we know we’ve mentioned Ravello Lounge before, but we must say it again, we love our lounge. The seating is comfortable (nice velvet chairs), the bar is mere steps away and first-rate lighting, stellar stage and an impressive sound system round out this great live music lounge. But don’t take our word for it – take Lon’s!

Rockstar Karaoke Comes to Ravello Lounge

We really like our lounge. It’s one of the gems of our resort. The seating is comfortable (plush, velvet chairs and large booths) and there’s a large bar right in the lounge so you can get your drinks while still enjoying the music.

Speaking of the music…it’s free. Free, live entertainment, six days a week with drink specials. Last week, we announced a brand new line-up to ramp up our entertainment. Below is the line-up, but the one day we’re really looking forward to is tomorrow – it’s Rockstar Karaoke!

It’s the latest craze, where everyone, and that includes everyone, can take to the stage and belt out their favorite songs. Unlike most karaoke bars where people sing along to recordings, Rockstar Karaoke at Ravello Lounge has a live band to accompany wannabe rock stars. How fun is that?

So, practice your do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do and join us tomorrow at Rockstar Karaoke.

Grey’s Anatomy Viewing Party

Last Thursday marked the season six premiere episode of Grey’s Anatomy and our viewing party inside the Ravello Lounge. A great crowd of Grey’s fans and MIX 94.1 listeners joined us for the fun and stayed for the two hour show.

Our host JC from MIX 94.1 tested everyone’s knowledge with Grey’s trivia and gave away some great prizes including DVDs and t-shirts – one lucky winner took home an M Resort hotel and dinner package.

The menu for the evening included specialty drinks named for popular characters, including the Fizzy Izzie Champagne Cocktail, McDreamy’s Chocolate Martini, the Dirty Sexy McSteamy Martini and Meredith’s Seriously Sake Martini. To satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth, our Executive Pastry Chef, Jean-Claude Canestrier created more than 800 chocolate confections for the party and guests indulged in the delicious truffles and chocolate covered fruit – the bananas on the left were a crowd favorite.

Our bartenders even got into the Grey’s theme and were decked out in surgical scrubs!
