Poolside Lunch: Swimsuit Friendly Eats

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

pool

It’s safe to say that by now you know the ins and outs of having a great time at our pool. SPF, tropical drinks, a cabana, you know the drill. We’ve even given you tips to making your M poolside experience as hot (or cool) as possible. In fact, through the end of September, our pool is offering $50 daybeds, $75 cabanas and $100 VIP cabanas (a complete steal if you ask us!) Email cabanarequest@theMresort.com to reserve yours before they’re booked up for the month.

So, after you’re all set up in your cabana, cocktail in hand you might be getting a little hungry (blame it on the alcohol.) You’re ready to chow down but still want to keep your figure looking good so what’s a bikini-clad pool patron to do? Lucky for you our Pool Team has taken special consideration in developing figure-friendly menu options.

Below you can find some of our favorites that are perfect to munch on by the pool, all options are Avocadoswimsuit-friendly!

Classic Cobb – Our classic Cobb salad has one very important slimming ingredient, avocados! Avocados are a monounsaturated fat. These types of good fats (saturated fats = bad fats) stop spikes in blood sugar (which signals the body to store fat around your midsection), helping prevent fat accumulation.

Fruit

Fruit Plate – Our selection of seasonal berries and other sliced fruit is probably the go-to menu item for those looking to stay fit. Berries are strong in antioxidants. Antioxidants help improve blood flow, which helps deliver more oxygen to your muscles. The more oxygen your muscles have the easier being active and working out feels.

Chicken Wrap

Chicken Caesar Wrap – While this may sound like your ordinary salad wrap, the best ingredient is in the packaging. Our Chicken Caesar Wrap comes bundled up in a spinach tortilla. Spinach is low in calories but still very high in vitamins. Popeye didn’t down all those cans of spinach for nothing!

Do Summer as a Vegas Local

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

We’re here to bring you the inside scoop on how the natives survive the summer months in Vegas. Our best piece of advice: do summer like the locals do. And, here’s how.

Worship the sun.

Chances are you’re going to find yoursepoolchairsbloglf at a pool while in Vegas (trust us, you’ll want to cool off). Whether you like things on a grand scale, (100,000 square feet grand enough for you?) or something a little more intimate, our very own Villaggio Del Sole and DayDream Pool Club are perfect for any pool patron. At either pool, grab a cabana, maybe a bottle or two (they start at only $65!) and enjoy the day lounging on a cushy chaise lounge chair with drink-in-hand. You can find more of our tips just for the pool, here.

Get happy during Happy Hour.

There’s no reason for you not be VeloceDrinkshappy while you’re at M since we offer Happy Hour 24/7. We know it seems too good to be true but if you go to any of our inside bars cocktails are just $5 and bottled beers $3. To sweeten the deal, our restaurants offer their own happy hour deals on food. A whole sushi platter for just $10 at our rooftop restaurant Veloce, half priced appetizers from Anthony’s Steakhouse, or even a hot dog and beer special from 32 Degree Draft Bar.

Play your cards like a true shark.TableGames1blog

There’s nothing wrong with playing the tables in the casino. But, each weekend our pool deck is populated with a great crowd. A crowd that includes a bevy of beautiful poolside black jack dealers ready to deal your next hand. So go out, get some fresh air and place your bets under the sun while taking in the great atmosphere of bikini-clad pool dwellers.

Leave time for relaxation.

Any well-versed Vegas traveler knows to leave roSpaTherapyPoolsblogom for a little R&R. What the locals know is to spend their R&R time at Spa Mio. Take advantage of their world-class massages, facials and other soothing treatments and also the amazing specials they offer (to everyone not just locals).

Join the Club.

Ever wonder how locals get comps imaginerewardsblog(the Vegas term for “free”) to our award-winning Studio B Buffet? We’ll let you in on a little secret, it’s because they’re a member of our iMagine Rewards Club! Join our rewards club so you too can earn great comps, prizes and even cash back.

How to Spend your July Fourth at M

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

MResort-Fireworks

Get ready for an explosive weekend at our resort! We know the M is your go-to place when you want to get the party started (Happy Hour 24/7 anyone?) and we won’t let you down this weekend. Think red, white, blue and an all-American day at our backyard pool!

Help us celebrate America’s birthday by spending the day (or whole weekend) at our pool. From Friday, July 1 – Monday, July 4 all our pools will offer complimentary entry to everyone (yes, everyone!) Join the festivities at our main pool, which boasts over 10,000 square feet of water ready for you to dive into. For a more intimate (and still free) Fourth of July experience come to our adult pool, DayDream Pool Club Saturday-Monday.

It looks like it’s going to be a hot one this weekend so take advantage of our great drink deals on our pool deck. You can order a bottle of vodka for just $65! We know you like to go first-class all the way so you’ll probably want to enjoy your bottle in style on one of our daybeds or inside a VIP cabana (complete with your own private Jacuzzi pool.) For your daybed or cabana reservation needs call 702.797.1808 or email cabanarequest@theMresort.com.

If you’re more of a card shark our Poker Room is having special promotions all day long. There are four ways for you to win on the Fourth! Get a Straight Flush (that includes a 4) and win $1,444, Four 4’s will get you $444 with a room wide Flop-It Bonus, a Flush with all 4’s is worth $144 and the games will receive $44 Splash Pots every 44 minutes!

Spending all the time by the pool or at the poker tables will give anyone an appetite. But, if you stick around at M you’re in luck. Studio B Buffet will offer its signature Seafood Brunch/Dinner throughout the whole weekend. You know what that means, all the shrimp, oysters and crab legs you can stomach for four days straight (in honor of July Fourth of course.)

There’s more to this holiday weekend than just partying. Our four-star rated Spa Mio is offering those with a valid military ID, two 50-minute services for the price of one! Sounds to us like the perfect way to wind down from a holiday weekend.

And in case you were curious, this year is America’s 235th birthday.

The (Un)Official Start of Summer

Thursday, May 26th, 2011

DayDream DaybedMemorial Day Weekend marks the (un)official start of the summer season here at our resort and all over Las Vegas. The weather has already started to heat up our pool deck to just the right temperature for a long weekend of partying. So we’re excited to share what we have to offer this holiday weekend at M.

We’ll be spending Memorial Day Weekend the only acceptable way – poolside, of course! This Friday-Monday our pools will offer complimentary admission to everyone (yes, really everyone) to get the celebration started off right. Complimentary admission extends to our adult pool DayDream Saturday-Monday as well. Both pools will have DJ entertainment to keep the festivities going all weekend long during the daytime and while you’re lounging poolside, we recommend you try a pitcher of our Shinsei Sangria made with Riesling, Vodka, Plum Sake and Fresh Fruit.

If you want to continue your poolside partying (which we’re sure you do), join us Saturday night from 8-11pm by our pool for a free concert. If you get there early (from 7-8pm) your first beer is on us! We’re also giving you a chance to fulfill your rock star dreams and perform with a live rock band on our stage thanks to Rockstar Karaoke. If the party gets too hot, you can also dive into our pool at night (for free) to cool off.

We appreciate all our military personnel here at M and so  just show us your (valid) Military ID and you’ll be drinking 2-for-1 drinks all weekend at our pool, including DayDream.

If you haven’t seen our pool deck yet it’s expansive (to say the very least) and we have plenty of room to accommodate each and every one of you. If you’d like to do it in style, cabanas and daybeds are also available. Happy Memorial Day weekend and we hope to see you in our backyard.

Tips To Party Poolside in Vegas

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

March is a jam-packed month. In just 31 days we’re celebrating Spring Break, March Madness, Mardi Gras, St. Patrick’s, not to mention it’s Daylight Saving Time and we’ll be ushering in the first day of Spring. Although these events are important, the 75 degree weather we’ve been enjoying in Vegas has us thinking of just one thing…the start of Vegas pool season! We can almost smell the suntan lotion and chlorine….CanopyDaybeds

Here at the M, our pool season started yesterday. The new furniture is out, our bar is stocked and our team members are trained. We decided that with the warm weather we’d open our smaller pool, DayDream, for those looking to get a jump start on their tan. Our official pool season begins April 1 when we open our main pool deck and April 16 when we turn DayDream into our adults-only pool, 21+ but not European.

To get you ready for the Vegas pool season, we thought we’d provide you with a few pointers on how to party poolside in Vegas. We’d love to hear your tips and pointers too!

  • Go local. If you’re visiting Vegas and want a different experience apart from the crowds go local. There are plenty of options (like the M, wink, wink) that are just a few miles Daydreamclosefrom the Strip that provide beautiful pools, amenities and service – often at a much better price.
  • Reserve a cabana. If you are planning to make a day of it, we suggest paying the extra money for a cabana. These covered areas are great retreats from the sun and usually come equipped with plush sofas, flat-screen TVs, sound systems, refrigerators, misters and sometimes even your own personal attendant. Here at the M, you can even receive an in-cabana massage from our four-star spa if you’re willing to spend a little extra money.
  • Use sunscreen. If you’re visiting our wonderful sun-filled city for the first time, the Vegas sun is relentless. Plan accordingly and bring sunscreen. You don’t want to be sitting in your hotel room with a bottle of aloe while your friends are getting ready to head out for a night on the town.
  • Bring friends. Everything is better if you have a buddy…or two. The cabanas are usually large enough to fit 8-10 people, so split the costs and have a great afternoon with your friends.
  • Celebrate responsibly. Remember, drinking in the sun will get you inebriated faster than normal. Be respectful of others and responsible when it comes to consuming alcoholic beverages and always off-set with water.
  • Choose wisely. There are plenty of options for pools in Vegas – local, Strip, club, European, family. If you want to make sure you have a good time, do your research. Check the pool websites, chat forums and call the venues to make sure you know about the costs and the atmosphere upfront. The last thing you want is to show up ready for a family day at the pool only to realize the pool is European.

Current pool hours (until our grand opening) here at the M are 10-6 pm daily (operation out of DayDream). Call 702-797-1800 for more pool information.

Hours of Operation:
Villaggio del Sole

DayDream Pool Club
April 16 Grand Opening

That pool is rad man

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

poolpartyblogReagan was president, the Soviet Union was still that “other” super-power, big hair, legwarmers and acid-washed jeans were everywhere to be seen, and the music was, well, totally awesome. The 80s was a decade many of us remember and while there are some things we’d rather forget about it (leave the shoulder pads where they belong – in the closet), the iconic pop culture is something most of us remember fondly.

Whether you are a child of the 80s, grew up in them, lived through them or even just missed them, you should come down and experience them once again in the fantastic setting of the Villaggio Del Sole Pool and Entertainment Piazza here at M Resort. Our Totally Awesome 80s Pool Party is bound to shake you all night long.

80spoolpartyblogThe event is this coming Saturday, August 7 from 11am to 8pm. It’s free for all you local ladies 21+ and just $10 for the local gents and $15 for non-locals. You better come dressed in your finest 80s attire since the best dressed will win a free cabana rental and bottle of Skyy Vodka. We’ll also be raffling prizes like a free night stay, gift cards and more cabanas. You’ll find great drink specials like $1 M-80 shots (you’ll have to listen for a special 80s song to get in on that one) and $20 buckets of select beer. If you’re looking to pamper pre or post party, check out the Spa Mio special – $80 for any 50-minute massage or get in on the cabanas early since they’re going quick – they come with an 80s ultimate party pack. Call (707) 797-1808 to reserve yours now.

The event will be hosted by DJ D-Money and he’ll be pouring the sugar on you time after time. So don’t be too shy during this cruel summer – we’re all livin’ on a prayer ‘cause we just can’t get enough. Whether you’re Billie Jean or Jessie’s girl, drive a little red corvette or walk like an Egyptian, remember the girls just want to have fun  and fun is definitely to be had this Saturday at M Resort’s Totally Awesome 80s Pool Party.

Gaming with a poolside view

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

poolsidegamingA while back we told you that M Resort offers fitness center users a poolside view. But why stop there? Did you know you can game with a poolside view too? That’s because we’ve got table games by the pool! It’s hard to beat playing a few hands of blackjack with a view like this.

poolviewblogThe “poolside pit” offers four blackjack tables with minimums starting at just $5. You’ll find a double-deck game and three shoe games. Did we mention the lovely dealers? They look amazing clad in their bright yellow two-pieces and a friendly smile. The tables are under great shade and surrounded by misters. They’re also right next to the poolside bar, so you’ll get your favorite summer cocktail or ice-cold beer in a jiffy.

poolsidegamingblog2The poolside pit is open Saturday and Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. so come and enjoy some summer gaming action outside in this spectacular setting.

10 Off-the-Cuff Vol. I

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

M Resort is full of wonderful things, many of which we’ve told you about and many more you’re yet to learn about. Every once in a while, we’re going to bring you 10 off-the-cuff things we see and think are pretty cool around the property. Here’s your first look:

What is it? Well, it’s the porte cochere of course. That’s the fancy French name (literally meaning “coach gate” or “carriage porch”) for the covered area at the main entrance where valet, taxis, etc. are located. What’s so great about this? Well, the architecture is awfully interesting, with its swooping glass roofline and integrated beams. When’s the last time you saw a porte cochere you could see through?

MSmellblogNext up we’ve got something a little difficult to capture in an image but we did our best – the M Smell. Now this is one many of you have experienced, enjoyed and commented on. As casino scents go, this one is tough to beat.

Carpetblog

Okay, okay – it’s carpet. But come on, some casino carpets out there make you positively nauseous! And while we’d never claim this one was subtle, it’s tasteful, warm, modern and fits the M just right.

CasinoChairblog

Yep, that’s a chair. What the heck is cool about a chair? Well, if you spend any time playing slots you’ll know. We didn’t shirk when it came to spending money on chairs – they’re comfy and perhaps just as important, they’re light. Ever tried to move a chair at a casino and thought it surely must be bolted to the floor? Errgh.

How about a little back-of-house for you? What’s this you ask? Looks pretty plain and boring, but it’s actually pretty cool. These are windows that allow team members to see inside the bakery finishing room. As we walk by on our day-to-day travels, we can sometimes catch a glimpse of our pastry chefs decorating those amazing cakes and desserts you see around the property.

BeerWineBuffetblogThirsty? Beer and wine is included in the price of Las Vegas’ best buffet. Enough said.

BathroomTVblog

Ah yes. If you haven’t stayed with us yet, it’s time. Why? Well the rooms are suite (and yes, we meant to misspell that!) and have some great features. That’s a TV in the mirror so you can catch up on the morning news when you’re getting ready, check the weather if you’re travelling, or perhaps not miss one minute of that late night program before you hop into that delightful bed.

SpaSculptureblog

There’s an awful lot of amazing art at M if you take a moment to stroll about and look for it. This is the sculpture outside Spa Mio. It’s just cool.

VIPCabanapoolblog

Never seen this before? Time to get yourself a VIP cabana and spend a day at the pool. That’s right, there’s a little private pool hiding at the back of them. Awesome.

TeamMembersblog

Well, we couldn’t get an image of them all, so this was the best we could come up with today. Without our Team Members, M Resort would just be a big building full of nifty stuff. With them, it’s a big building full of nifty stuff, smiles and outstanding service that will keep you coming back for more.

Get fit with a poolside view

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Really – who wants to work out and stare at a blank wall or a bunch of other people working out? Not us and not you. That’s why here at M Resort we made sure you could work out with a view.

Tucked behind Spa Mio you’ll find our fitness center. It offers all the things you’d expect – rowing machines, stair master, treadmills and ellipticals, and a whole array of weight machines and free weights (aren’t they nifty with the M logo?!). You’ll find all the equipment is new, well-maintained and clean. Water and fresh fruit? On the house. Need a towel? We keep ours on ice for you. FCweightsblog

FCviewblogBut what is it that really makes the fitness center at M Resort stand out? The view. We certainly offer an array of televisions if it’s the latest news, sports or celebrity gossip you want to catch up on, but if you’re looking for something to really get you motivated, try gazing out at the spectacular Villaggio Del Sole pool and entertainment piazza. It’s hard not to want to do 10 more reps or 15 more minutes when those azure waters are staring back your way, filled with frolicking summer guests.

FCmachines1blogLet’s face it, it’s easy to indulge here at M – with things like the best buffet in Vegas and 96 beers on tap offered, who could blame you? But don’t worry, the view in the fitness center is waiting for a workout.

A Day at M for Dad

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

Father’s Day is almost upon us and there’s no better way to spoil your dad than with a delightful day at M Resort. We know it can be difficult to come up with special things to do for dads on Father’s Day, so here’s a few of our favorite picks that are sure to please him:

First let’s get him ready for his big day so take him down to Spa Mio. He may resist at first, but you can assure him spas are for guys too. Get him the “Mio Man Time Package a 50-minute Therapeutic Massage and a Haircut or Master Shave for just $140 (a $50 savings). Or how about the “Dad’s Day Out” package – a 50-minute Relaxation Massage and a For Him Facial for just $185 (a $70 savings). Maybe the “Mr. Big Package” – a Master Shave or Haircut and Manicure and Pedicure for dad for just $125 (a $15 savings). Believe us, if he’s never had a master shave it’s going to make his day!

BabyCakesblogHe’s bound to be hungry now so head over to Baby Cakes where you can get dad a delicious cup of coffee (or he can even indulge in that mocha-frappa-latte-whipped-cream-thingy we know he loves but he’ll never admit to) and a fresh-made pastry. Italian donut anyone?

poolblogNow it’s time for a little fun in the Vegas sun. Rent dad a cabana or daybed where he can relax poolside with a fresh summer cocktail or ice cold beer. There’s cool blue waters and spectacular scenery for him to enjoy while he works hard at being lazy.

StudioBblog1Hungry again!? It’s time to settle down and indulge in the best buffet in Las Vegas – Studio B. Beer and wine are included in the price and when it comes to eats, he’ll find more choices than he can imagine – delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts that won’t quit! The whole family can go back for more…and more…and more.

Casinofloor1blogWe know dad has given you money a TON of times, so maybe you should slip him a twenty and take him to his favorite game. Is he a blackjack man? Poker? Maybe he likes to hit the slots? Give him the chance to win it big on his big day.

32degreesblog

Let’s face it, most dads like beer, sports and TV. Just off the casino floor he’ll find his dream trifecta in 32 Degrees Draft Bar. With 96 beers on tap there’s something he’s sure to like while he watches all the games on a slew of TVs. He can even pop over to the Race & Sports book to make a bet. If he’d rather stay where he’s at, we’ve got mobile gaming and betting for him!

TerzettoblogIt’s time for dad’s special Father’s Day meal and there’s no better place than Terzetto. It’s home to hand-selected prime cuts of beef, including a reserve list from the Marnell family ranch in Montana. Dine on the terrace and watch the sun set with a spectacular view of the Strip and valley.

Remember that dads need the best when it comes to rest and relaxation this Father’s Day and you’ll find the best here at M Resort. And don’t forget to tell him you love him and thank him for all he does!
