1. We have to ask. Why Neil Diamond? We believe Neil Diamond is one of America’s greatest singer/songwriters of all time. A lot of people don’t realize that, so it’s our mission to spread the “good word” of Neil all across America.

2. Super Diamond has been interpreting and recreating the sounds of Neil Diamond for nearly 20 years. How did the six of you meet? And how challenging has it been to keep the group together for two decades? I was sitting in with some San Francisco bands now and then, playing solo for a few years before meeting the right kind of people to create a group. Super Diamond is a combination of guys that I sat in with during those San Francisco years. We were all on the same page as far as approaching our Neil Diamond show with an alternative edge and a little bit of tongue in cheek humor…just a little! 

3. The Diamond hits are many – “America,” “Sweet Caroline” and “Cracklin’ Rose” to name a few – what is your favorite song to perform and why? My favorite song we play is “Brooklyn Roads”. It’s an amazing song musically, and it’s something I personally relate to.

4. You’ve met the real Neil several times, what was the experience like? Each time meeting Neil was awesome! He sang with us twice! Unreal!! He’s a very normal and down-to-earth guy for a living legend.

5. How is Surreal Neil different from Randy Cordeiro? Surreal Neil is a ham and Randy is shy, and I hear that all the time. It took me a while to get Surreal Neil to move around that much and take control with so much confidence.

6. Have you performed in Las Vegas before and what was the audience response? We’ve played Las Vegas many times and the response has always been terrific! Just like everywhere else, really. Neil Diamond fans are the best, wherever we go!

7. You’ve performed all over the country, what continues to drive you and the band to perform? We love our job! Every show is a party! We get to travel and see our friends in different cities. Best job I’ve ever had! 

8. What can Diamond Head fans expect to see when they come to your show at the M Pavilion in June? We’ve created a great, brand new mash-up of “Desiree” and “Long Time” by Boston we hope they enjoy, and you won’t hear any recorded tracks at a Super Diamond show. It’s all live.

9. Where do you see yourselves and/or Super Diamond in 5 or 10 years? Continuing to spread the “good word” of Neil across America! For 20 years we’ve improved as a band and I have no doubt that we will be a better band in five years, and better yet in 10. Also playing Europe and Australia are some of our goals.

10.  What’s your favorite drink and what does it say about you? Love on the rocks! Ain’t no surprise.

Rich was involved in selecting perfect wine pairings and delectable food creations for the event. Her picks include: Sage Fried Chicken tenders with chipotle dipping sauce, Mini-Meatloaf Sandwiches with roasted tomato and griddled mozzarella, and Mashed Potato/Bacon Burger Mini’s and Mini Crab Cakes with chili mayo drizzle from Hash House A Go Go.

For more amazing creations, Whole Foods will be on site featuring artisan cheese from Beehive Cheeses out of Utah. Trust us; you'll never think of cheese the same way after trying some of these! To complete the selections with something sweet, Ethel M's will be on hand with a delicious assortment of chocolates, each paired with a particular wine and/or champagne.

We know how to party at M, and our entertainment for the evening, Barry Black knows how to keep the crowd going. Black is a young acoustic singer/songwriter highly influenced by the sounds of the classic soul era. Despite his respect for the past, his live performances are a virtual mash-up of every genre, from New Jack Swing to Classic Country. A feel-good party vibe follows him wherever he goes.

Whiskey and cigars go hand in hand, so naturally we will have a cigar terrace for guests to enjoy a variety of cigars that pair perfectly with their selection of whiskey.

Our inaugural Naughty Gras Party will be held this Saturday in the brand-new M Pavilion. In typical Fat Tuesday style, prepare to be greeted with beads, festive masks and good luck coins to help channel your New Orleans spirit. We'll have a table games pit available with blackjack and craps games to try your Mardi Gras luck. Entertainment for the night will feature live DJ mixes from your favorite CBS stations including; 98.5 KLUC, MIX 94.1, X107.5 and KXNT as well as a headline performance by local favorites Zowie Bowie.

What would a Mardi Gras celebration be without authentic New Orleans food? Specially prepared bites will be available during the event. Food starts at $3 and you'll receive free beads with each purchase!

• King Cake - sweetened yeast bread baked into the shape of a ring and frosted with gold, green and purple icing (signature Mardi Gras colors).
• Muffuletta Sandwiches - popular New Orleans sandwich made on a loaf style bun with marinated olive salad, salami, capicola, and provolone cheese.
• Fried Shrimp - a Cajun specialty that needs no explanation.
• Beignets - the New Orleans twist on the classic French fritter, these fried doughnuts are square in shape, deep fried and topped off with powdered sugar.

A Big Easy party wouldn't be complete without libations! There are a lot of choices when it comes to meeting space in the city of Las Vegas. In fact, Las Vegas has more than 10.5 million square feet of exhibit space! For our part, we currently offer 60,000 square feet of meeting space and if you've ever wandered around the spa level of M (below our casino floor) you may have noticed how convenient our meeting space is to our guest room elevators and the ideal flow our space offers for breakouts, general sessions and catered events. Our resort has a 17,000 square foot ballroom and multiple meeting rooms to house groups of 50 to 2,000. Our talented team can also turn any of our restaurants into magical spaces for special events or even our outdoor pool piazza that can accommodate up to 6,000 people!

Over the course of the last year two years we've been fortunate to host groups large and small with a demand for even more space! So, next month we'll be providing more of that much-needed extra space with the opening of the M Pavilion. The Pavilion will add 25,000 square feet of flexible space to our portfolio. It will provide enough space for concerts, large-scale galas, exhibitors and more. The Pavilion will have 45-foot ceilings and can hold a seated concert for up to 3,000 people.
