Ring in the New Year Your Way

MGirlNYEWhat better place to ring in 2012, than Las Vegas! With only a few days left in the New Year, we’re planning something special for those who are spending their last hours of 2011 at M. Our resort is the perfect spot to party on New Year’s Eve, so be sure to make this year one to remember and celebrate whichever way you please. We’ve got entertainment, dining and parties for every taste and budget complete with a champagne toast at midnight for our guests.

Party

We think cover charges are overrated so we invite our guests to celebrate without waiting in line or paying an entry fee. We’ll be offering complimentary party favors, and cake and champagne stations throughout our casino. Toast the New Year with us and enjoy live entertainment beginning at 9pm in Lobby Bar, Ravello Lounge, M Bar and Hostile Grape. See which venue is the right fit for your celebration style.

Ravello Lounge – The New Year’s evening will kick off in our lounge with go-go dancers and a DJ spinning hits to get the party started, beginning at 9pm. At 10pm, 80’s tribute band Loveshack will take the stage and sing the best of the 80’s and 90’s and some NYE-style party music. The entertainment in Ravello will be going all night long and is ideal for our high-energy party goers.

Lobby Bar – Relax at Lobby Bar and take in a performance by Lowkey Junction. The band is a unique blend of masterful music mixes, live percussion and saxophone. With the best people-watching views, Lobby Bar is the perfect fit for a relaxed New Year’s celebration.

M Bar – For those who like to be at the center of all the action, M Bar is for you. Located in the middle of our casino floor, DJ Simon and go-go dancers will be kicking off this party at 9pm. Get there early for a seat on M Bar’s cushy couches or get your groove on to the tunes DJ Simon will be spinning.

Hostile Grape – Take a sip of more than 160 wines by the glass in our underground wine hideaway. Veteran DJ Art will be mixing up the music for the night for the oenophiles.

Play

End the year with good luck here at M! We’ll be giving away $24,000 in free pay randomly beginning at 8pm on New Year’s Eve. Every 15 minutes we’ll be drawing 10 winners. Two players will win $300, four players will win $150 and another four will win $100. All you have to do is play with your iMagine Rewards Card to be eligible.

Not to be outdone, our poker room will be giving away a grand share of money as well. Dine

Our restaurants will be ready for you to kick-off the New Year’s festivities. Marinelli’s, our authentic Italian restaurant will be offering a la carte specialty items in addition to its regular menu beginning at 4pm and our steakhouse, Anthony’s will be serving up a limited menu for the holiday starting at 5 pm. And of course, Studio B Buffet will be serving specialty dishes all day.

We’re back with another libation location for you to quench your thirst at here at M, Previously we told you about our great people-watching spot Lobby Bar. Now, let us introduce you to M Bar, the center bar at our resort located (centrally of course) in the middle of our casino floor. This amber-lit space is the perfect spot for you to turn to when you’ve got a taste for anything your heart desires.

M Bar’s mixologists can shake up just about any cocktail you can dream up (and even some they’ve dreamed up.) To sweeten the deal, that drink you’re about to order is included in our Happy Hour 24/7 guarantee. Even within the luxury of M Bar you can still get your Appletini (or any other cocktail you fancy) for just $5 and bottled beer for $3.

Meet Nicanor, Bartender at the M Bar

Nic2If you’re thirsty, there’s certainly no shortage of places to get a drink here at M Resort. One place offering a very cool atmosphere, one of the most spectacular chandeliers you’ll ever see, and of course some of the friendliest staff in Vegas is the M Bar. One of those team members you’ll find is Nicanor and we thought we’d ask him a few questions and share the answers with you: 

 

 

  

What is your background:  I’ve lived in Las Vegas for 20 years and previously lived in California. I’m Mexican/Puerto Rican and have been tending bar for about 10 years. I used to work at Red Rock before coming to the M and have been here since the day we opened.

What’s the best thing about being a bartender: It’s interactive and fun. I’m basically a psychologist for people, which can be pretty funny and interesting.

What’s your funniest bar story: I was behind the bar getting a guests’ drink and was really in a hurry – we were busy and I wanted to get the drinks out quickly. I was running around and got my pant leg caught. I didn’t think it would be a big deal to tug at it…but I tugged and my pants ripped open. Needless to say, guests received a bit more than a drink that night!

I’ve heard a lot of funny stories – when people start drinking they tend to lose their inhibitions. I’ve seen people dance on table tops, lose their clothes and run into glass walls.

What’s the biggest tip you’ve ever received: $300

What’s the craziest drink order you’ve gotten: It’s a known fact that bartenders despise frozen drinks. They take almost triple the time to make. With that said, one time I had an order with at least four or five frozen drinks. It was crazy, but it certainly wasn’t pleasant to make all of them.

Who are some celebrities you’ve mixed drinks for: Tiger Woods, Charles Barkley, Suge Knight, Waynes Brothers (ordered Mai Tais)

What’s your favorite drink on our menu: Sweet Crush – it’s easy to make and easy to sell to the ladies. It has champagne and strawberries – what lady wouldn’t love it?

What bars do you work at on property: I’ve worked at all our bars but now I’m at M Bar.

Do you get hit on a lot: Every once in a while.

What’s the best pick-up line you’ve used or that has been used on you: Lots of ladies just ask to feel my muscles and pose for pictures with me.  I’m not one to use pick-up lines on the ladies.

What’s your sign: Cancer

What’s the best experience you’ve had while working here: Met my girlfriend here.

What do you think is the best thing about Vegas: The city changes all the time and there’s tons of things to do here. My favorite place here, when I’m not working, is to go to Firefly Restaurant.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you:  I cut my own hair.

What do you do for fun: Wine tasting, exercise, dine out.
