10 Off-the-Cuff Vol. II

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

We know you wanted another one, right? Here are 10 more off-the-cuff things we think are pretty cool at M Resort that you should know about:

pastriesblogThe pastries at Baby Cakes are divine. Have one with your coffee, as an afternoon snack or take a big bag home or to the office. Believe us, they’re gonna love you for it.

LoftTVblog

We’ve told you a bit about the loft suites and this is definitely one of the coolest features. As if the spectacular view, immaculate room and floor to ceiling windows weren’t enough, the TV above the bed appears magically and tilts to just the right angle for you to watch while sprawled out in that oh so comfy bed.

VelocePatioblog

Above that loft suite? One of the most amazing outdoor spaces in Vegas. The patio outside Veloce’s bar and lounge is something you have to experience. Relax with some sangria and watch the sunset.

imaginerewardsblog

The iMagine Rewards Club is cool. The point system is better, the gifts are better, the staff is friendlier, the cards just look niftier….

naturallightblog

And while you’re using that card, enjoy some of that natural light in the casino. WHAT?! NATURAL LIGHT IN A CASINO?! Yup.

TerzettoTableblog

Been to Terzetto yet? It’s our steakhouse and if you’re looking for a very cool place to dine, try the feature table. “Look mom, no legs!”

HGceilingblog

When it comes to cool things suspended from the ceiling, head down to Hostile Grape. Those are thousands of slats from wine barrels which came from the Marnell winery in Napa. An artist put them together, numbered them, took them all apart, then reassembled them here at the property.

cardsblog

Don’t know about you, but logoed playing cards are just cool. They scream “Vegas.”

StudioKitchenblog

Hopefully you’ve seen it by now, but if you haven’t, you need to check it out. It’s a restaurant, it’s a buffet, it’s a show kitchen/TV studio? Just like you’d find your favorite celeb chef in on TV, there’s a show kitchen inside Studio B with lights, cameras and plenty of cooking action with Martini Time – Vegas’ only live cooking show.bettingstationblog

Sports betting at M is something you have to try. Look at the betting stations!

That pool is rad man

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Reagan was president, the Soviet Union was still that “other” super-power, big hair, legwarmers and acid-washed jeans were everywhere to be seen, and the music was, well, totally awesome. The 80s was a decade many of us remember and while there are some things we’d rather forget about it (leave the shoulder pads where they belong – in the closet), the iconic pop culture is something most of us remember fondly.

Whether you are a child of the 80s, grew up in them, lived through them or even just missed them, you should come down and experience them once again in the fantastic setting of the Villaggio Del Sole Pool and Entertainment Piazza here at M Resort. Our Totally Awesome 80s Pool Party is bound to shake you all night long.

80spoolpartyblog

The event is this coming Saturday, August 7 from 11am to 8pm. It’s free for all you local ladies 21+ and just $10 for the local gents and $15 for non-locals. You better come dressed in your finest 80s attire since the best dressed will win a free cabana rental and bottle of Skyy Vodka. We’ll also be raffling prizes like a free night stay, gift cards and more cabanas. You’ll find great drink specials like $1 M-80 shots (you’ll have to listen for a special 80s song to get in on that one) and $20 buckets of select beer. If you’re looking to pamper pre or post party, check out the Spa Mio special – $80 for any 50-minute massage or get in on the cabanas early since they’re going quick – they come with an 80s ultimate party pack. Call (707) 797-1808 to reserve yours now.

The event will be hosted by DJ D-Money and he’ll be pouring the sugar on you time after time. So don’t be too shy during this cruel summer – we’re all livin’ on a prayer ‘cause we just can’t get enough. Whether you’re Billie Jean or Jessie’s girl, drive a little red corvette or walk like an Egyptian, remember the girls just want to have fun  and fun is definitely to be had this Saturday at M Resort’s Totally Awesome 80s Pool Party.poolpartyblog

Rendezvous–THE Sat. Night Pool Party for Local Ladies

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

As you may know, when the sun goes down in Vegas during pool season, the temperature generally stays plenty warm and sometimes downright hot. But let us tell you – that’s a good thing. Why? Well we figure pool parties shouldn’t just be a daytime phenomenon as they generally are here  in our beloved city of sin. Every Saturday when the sun sets on those “other” pool clubs, DayDream Pool Club here at M Resort opens its doors welcoming local ladies to Rendezvous – the only Saturday night pool party in the city – just for them.

Time to get outside and party

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

PartyZoneblogSome of you out there who attended one of our great outdoor concerts last summer (like Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and oh yes, Journey!) were hoping for a little more room to move around and well…get down. Well, we listened. This year if you’re lucky enough to join us for one of our awesome outdoor music extravaganzas held in the Villaggio Del Sole entertainment piazza, you’ll be treated to a whole lot of space dedicated to those of you that want to drink, dance and let loose.

We’re turning a large portion of the venue into a party zone for our two upcoming concerts – Steve Miller Band (5/21) and Huey Lewis & The News (5/29). Which means bring some friends, find a few new ones, get yourself a bucket of beers (Bud and Bud Light buckets just $20 while supplies last…can you say “concert bargain”?!), and get your party hat on.

Budweiser presents the Jack FM  Party Zone here at M Resort from 7-9 pm Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 29. With a general admission ticket  to either band starting at just $39.99, you’ll have access to the Party Zone with drinks, dancing and some mighty fine prize giveaways too if you like free stuff. Get your tickets now at Ticketmaster.com and join us in the Party Zone at M!

Music to your ears

Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

piazzablogA few weeks ago we told you a little more about our pools here at M Resort. And while Villaggio Del Sole offers a perfect setting for pool goers and sun seekers of all kinds, many don’t realize that Villaggio is also an events piazza. At the northern end of the plaza you’ll find a large open stage, with a full complement of technology fit for any A-list performer, their backdrop the lights and heights of the famous Las Vegas Strip.

concertsetupblogWhat about those performers? Did you know that beneath that stage you’ll find a green room with private access and all the creature comforts the headliners could need? It’s only a bit more than a year since we opened here at M, but we’ve already hosted the likes of Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson and the iconic Journey. (You know what they say about Journey right? There are only two kinds of people in this world: people who love Journey and liars).

journeyblogIf you’ve never been to an outdoor concert, it’s something you truly need to do. A concert at Villaggio takes things even a step further – it isn’t an open air sports arena or public park, but a beautiful plaza at an unmistakable resort. Listening to great music in this open setting is an entirely different experience from just about anything you’ll find anywhere else. Why don’t you join us for the next one? Tickets are on sale now to see the legendary Steve Miller Band on Friday, May 21 at 9 p.m. Tickets range from $85 to $39.95 all inclusive. Tickets may be purchased through Ticketmaster by calling 800-745-3000 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.stage2blog Photos courtesy of Tom Donoghue.TimMcGrawblog

Italian Fest
Drum roll please…the Italian Festival is back!

Now, some of you might remember the Italian Festival and some of you might not, so we’ll do a quick refresher course and then talk about this weekend’s big event.

First begun by the Marnell family 17 years ago at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, the Italian Festival was a locals’ favorite, attracting thousands of people over the course of the two-day event. For a decade, the Marnell family Italian Festival was the talk of the town. Now, they’ve brought it back at the M Resort – with a few added twists.

Our Italian Festival weekend is all about food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. (By the way, admission is free!) Here’s a rundown of what you can expect.

Pasta Baby A Feast for the Senses

Stroll through our outdoor piazza and treat yourself to authentic Italian dishes like calzones, pizza, sausage and pepper sandwiches and various specialties prepared by local restaurants and our very own world-renowned chefs. We’ll also have over-the-top desserts like cheesecake, cannoli, biscotti, Italian ices and the ever-popular fried dough.

For the Bambinos
We have face painting, colorful balloon art, airbrushed tattoos and roaming stilt walkers – not to mention great live entertainment by Louis Prima Jr. on the main stage at 3, 5 and 7 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Grape Stomp
You can check out your favorite local radio and TV personalities as they compete during one of our Grape Stomping Competitions on Sunday at 2 pm.  We also have public contests throughout both days.

Spaghetti Eating Contests
If clearing your plate comes easy, save room for spaghetti and put your skills to the test at our Spaghetti Eating Contest. Kids and adults can sign up at our festival information booth.

Bocce Ball Tournaments
If a true competition is more your style, sign up for our bocce ball tournaments or free play hours.

 Farmer’s Market
Authentic Italian cuisine can only be achieved with the freshest of ingredients. Shop Italian-style at the open air Farmer’s Market and take home delicious fruits and vegetables.

JC’s Birthday at the Hostile Grape

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

bday-crowd2

Every Wednesday from 6-8 pm, JC Fernandez of MIX 94.1 hosts our weekly “Escape to the Grape” wine tastings. JC does an awesome job and when we discovered his birthday was on Monday, we couldn’t resist incorporating a special birthday celebration into this week’s event. It was the perfect way to honor our host and thank him for all of his hard work week in and week out.

As part of the birthday bash, our pastry chefs created a delicious sheet cake, complete with JC’s picture on top, for all of our guests to enjoy. JC’s No. 1 birthday request was an extra hour of musical entertainment by Mark B., Hostile Grape’s resident guitar player and singer and we were happy to make it happen.
