Make a Splash in our Lobby

Lobby Water Wall

It’s easy to get thirsty in the Las Vegas climate, especially during the summer months. Our temperatures soar into the 100s and there’s no better way to keep cool then surrounding yourself with water at all times. If you’re not sipping on it or lounging around it on our pool deck, head to our lobby to satisfy your H2O-needs in the desert.

Logo Water Wall

When conventions are at M they can display their logo on our water features.

If you take a look around our lobby, you’ll notice that you’re surrounded by custom water walls. They’ll have you feeling like you’re whisked off to a tropical oasis. It’s all part of our design scheme of bringing the outside-inside our property. Our water features were created by Marnell Companies, the architecture and design firm responsible for the construction and interior design of the entire resort.

The construction of each of the walls consisted of a stainless steel top trough to collect the water, stainless steel angled wall for the water to flow down and a stainless steel bottom pool to collect the water. Since we’re environmentally-conscious at our resort, the water collected at the bottom or our water features is then recycled by being re-circulated down the wall again.

And after seeing our water features, all you’ll want to do is stare. Not only are they pretty but according to Feng Shui beliefs, water is an important element in attracting prosperity and abundance. Sounds like after spending a little time in our lobby, you’ll be ready to hit the casino floor.

DragonDanceWe probably shouldn’t put this one up since you can’t see it anymore, but it was just too cool not to. Our Dragon & Lion Dance in celebration of Chinese New Year was spectacular! There are videos and more pics available on our Facebook page if you’re interested!

RavelloWallRavello Lounge isn’t just a great place to see live entertainment – it’s also home to some pretty amazing technology. Not only are there more than 40 screens built into the walls that can showcase the onstage entertainment, but the large panels next to the screens can be programmed to visually match audio beats and more through visual representation.

LavendarCakeSpring will be sprung in the not too distant future and you know what that means?! Wedding season. If you’re looking for a spectacular custom cake creation for your special day or other special occasion, we can make just about anything you can dream up.

BabyCakesTileAnd speaking of cake, let’s talk Baby Cakes. These are some of the custom tiles you’ll find here inspired by European patisseries. It’s the details that make all the difference, not to mention some unbelievably good pastries!

RestaurantTerraceWith warmer weather on the way, it’s almost time to start enjoying dining al fresco. Veloce, Marinelli’s, Terzetto and Hash House all feature great outdoor terraces where you can enjoy your meal, the weather and spectacular views of the pool area and Strip.

VeloceDrinksHmmm, what to enjoy out on the terrace? How about some of the amazing cocktails Veloce is offering for Happy Hour in their bar & lounge? Red Sangria, Peach White Sangria and Rocks Margaritas with a superb selection of top-shelf tequilas for just $5 are all excellent choices.

PumaImageBack to those details. When we have meeting/conference groups here with us at M, we do our utmost to show them we appreciate their choosing M Resort. From custom welcome messages on our marquee to these super-cool light-logos displayed in the water features behind check-in, we want you to feel welcome and appreciated.

MeetingsFixtureAnd when you’re in those meetings? Let’s face it, meeting rooms can be a bit dull at times, but like the rest of M, we did our best to incorporate some amazing fixtures and fittings that add a little extra something.

WovenMetalWallOkay, so more décor, but you have to admit this is cool. These backlit, woven-metal walls can be found outside Studio B and also inside Spa Mio.

MFamilyCareNobody likes to have to go to the doctor, but it sure is nice to have one right down the corridor. M Family Care is like any other doctor’s office, it’s just located inside M Resort!

Ten Off-the-Cuff Vol. IV

Thursday, December 16th, 2010

Here it is, the final edition of “Ten Off-the-Cuff” for 2010. Here are ten off-the-cuff things we think are pretty cool at M Resort that you should know about:

EnomaticblogWine is one of those things that is very much subjective. There are some you love and others you just can’t stand. And don’t you hate it when you order an entire glass of one that you really don’t care for? No worries in Hostile Grape: the enomatic wine machines here allow you to taste a huge variety of wines in one, three and five ounce pours with prices to match. Get a small taste if you’re trying something for the first time that you’re not sure about, or get a whole glass if it’s a favorite.

MGirlsCalendarblogThe M Girls 2011 Calendar is definitely cool, as are the ladies themselves, and this is one cool thing here at M that won’t be around forever so get ‘em while they last. They’re available for just $10+tax at 32 Degrees and Studio B Buffet and part of the proceeds goes to benefit the American Cancer Society.

MBarchandalierblogThere are some absolutely amazing chandeliers and other light fixtures here, but perhaps the most spectacular is in M Bar. It’s made of thousands upon thousands of individual pieces that took an awful long time to assemble. It’s definitely worth a gander.

mciderblogHow about another “M” something? It’s our M Cider and it will definitely make you go “Mmmmm.”

SpaTherapyPoolsblogWant to rid yourself of that winter chill? Try the therapy pools at Spa Mio. They’ll warm you up and relax those holiday stress knots right out of you. Ooh! Cool chandelier again!

MarinellisWineRoomblogYes it’s more wine, but it’s really the room we wanted to point out. This is the electric wine room at Marinelli’s. It’s electric red and just so happens to house some pretty amazing reds you can enjoy with dinner.

OysterBarblogTucked between Terzetto and the Lobby Bar is the Oyster Bar. It’s a great spot to saddle-up for some delicious seafood treats and easy conversation.

MSignblog

Here’s one of our other favorite “M” things – the M sign on the side of the hotel tower. It can be programmed to do all sorts of cool things and if you come out to the property right now, you’ll see it’s gone all candy cane for the holidays.

WizardofOzslotsblogYou’re not in Kansas anymore – this is Vegas baby! The new Great and Powerful Oz slots are REALLY cool. These slots feature some of the latest sensory immersion technologies, great bonuses and communal gaming.

MobiledeviceblogAnd while we’re on the topic of gaming, have you tried it away from the slots and tables yet? Here at M we offer Cantor Gaming’s eDeck devices which feature slots, video poker and table games right from a small wireless device.

That’s ten! Come down and check them out!

Get your cards on the table

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

pokersignblogThere are a lot of reasons the poker room here at M Resort has become one of the top in Vegas in the short period of time the property has been open. The room itself is hard to beat (though we can’t guarantee you won’t have the occasional bad beat!).

pokerroomblogThe 14-table room is warm and inviting, offering a level of comfort that you won’t find most places. Whether you’re in for a few quick hands or an extended stay for one of the many tournaments, it’s nice to know you won’t go home with an aching back. And what holds true in real estate applies to poker rooms too – location, location, location. The room has easy access being located right next to the parking garage entrance and the restrooms are just steps away. Hungry? Thirsty? Vig Deli delivers classic deli fare to hungry players and 32 Degrees pours a frosty selection of 96 beers on tap. In fact one reason some of our regular players choose M Resort is that they can enjoy one of the city’s best beer selections. Let’s not forget about the game too. We know, you need to concentrate on the hand…well, at hand. But if you’re dying to know the score or want to place a quick bet, the race & sports book is right next door.

pokertableblogHow about those tournaments? Not to mention all the promotions. There’s never a shortage of either in M’s poker room. Mini beats, progressive high-hand jackpots, four-of-a-kind bonuses and great guaranteed prize pool daily tournaments. In fact in December, we’re offering the $100,000 M Beat with the biggest guaranteed player share in Vegas. Wonder why the slot players are always the ones to get all the free stuff? We’ve got gift days for our poker players too.

pokerpromosblogThe reality is though, there’s something that really makes the poker room here at M Resort special and different – our team members. We’ve got the best dealers, managers, front desk staff and cocktail servers. You’ll hear players welcomed by name and you’ll see plenty of smiles from team members and guests alike. So get your cards on the table here at M – if poker is your game, we’ve got the room that treats you right.

Ten Off the Cuff Vol. III

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

We know you were waiting!!! Here are 10 more off-the-cuff things we think are pretty cool at M Resort that you should know about:

TerzettopatioblogIf you haven’t dined outside on the Terzetto patio, it’s a must. The view is great and the infinity pools are definitely cool. They also make a perfect aisle if you’re looking for a unique spot to get married.

ObeliskblogThe obelisk out by the porte cochere is something you should take a gander at. It’s made of bronze and kind of resembles a gun sight. If you follow its line, it travels through the lobby, out over the pool, across the main stage and out to the famous Las Vegas strip.

MainstageblogAnd how about that main stage? An amazing view for guests and performers alike.

BallroomblogOkay, okay, maybe it’s just a ballroom, but it’s a HUGE ballroom and you might not have even known it was here tucked away on the spa level. Reception after Terzetto patio ceremony? Yep.

FitnessCenterviewblog

There’s no better motivation to get fit than gazing out over our spectacular pool. Our fitness center offers a view for aesthetics and to help you keep going.

HashHousetractorblog

Antique tractor in a casino? Cool.

CeilingTilesblogYou may not have known what you were looking at, but the tiles covering the columns and ceiling on the casino floor are mother of pearl.

GlassElevatorblogMaybe you’ve never used it or even seen it, but there’s a sweet glass elevator between the Lobby Bar and Oyster Bar – it travels down to the spa level and then further down to Hostile Grape.

Mgastationblog

That’s right, M Resort has a gas station and you can use your iMagine Rewards points there. Nice.

VigTripleCrownblog

Can’t remember all the Triple Crown Winners? Who took the World Series in 1966? The walls at Vig Deli are covered in sports factoids to peak your interest or settle the debate.

Another 10! Check ‘em out next time you visit us here at M!

An Armani Suit with a Versace Tie

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

You may think a suit and tie an odd way to describe the design and architecture of a resort property, but when you hear it explained in regard to M Resort, it’s incredibly apt. We recently spoke to Jessika Ebersole, Director of Design and Branding for Marnell Companies, who was the brand and design lead for the M Resort project.

Ebersole said designing M definitely started with Anthony and Tony Marnell, incorporating not only what they wanted the property to be, but also incorporating years of their knowledge after literally designing and building much of what we recognize as today’s Las Vegas skyline. Here’s how Ebersole describes the initial process:

“First we develop the brand, which isn’t just the logo and marketing side of things – it’s the overall voice that you create for any project. It’s a very strategic way of thinking. You have to understand the customer, talk to the client and look at the competition. It’s about predicting the future and price point positioning. You’re setting the tone of the entire property.”

So what’s with the suit and tie? Like the overall design and feel of M, an Armani suit is classic, timeless and a perfect example of subtle elegance. It’s one of those things that will never go out of style. You’ll own it and wear it for years. A Versace tie is what provides the personality – it’s the swirling geometry of the casino floor carpet (which by the way got its inspiration from a real Versace tie design), the luminous red lights in Marinelli’s, the Riva wooden speedboat inspired Veloce. Another way to look at it is like a number of children from the same family:RivablogVelocewoodblog

“Think of the brand as a family – each child has their own distinct personality, but when you put them together, you can see they’re all related. The individual venues and spaces here also have their own distinct personalities but you can still feel the voice of the overall design of the property coming through to form a whole. When you walk through the M, you can hear that voice. It travels down every aspect of the experience and applies to everything.”

CasinoCeilingTblog

One thing we returned to several times and which became the theme of M Resort’s design was the combination of aesthetics and functionality. Ebersole said you’d be very challenged to find a property that offers the beauty and elegance that M does and the level of functionality it maintains. Most properties are lucky to possess one or the other. Things like the ingenious ceiling on the casino floor that houses modules which incorporate HVAC, cameras, fire extinguishers and more, but do so without creating an eyesore and also allow ease of relocation. Or the extensive corridor and elevator system running behind the restaurants which allow staff, food and trash to move quickly and efficiently without intruding on the guest experience. The columns, distinct rooflines and terraces, these too most certainly offer function but do it in a way very pleasing to the eye. Everything was laid out methodically and for a reason. Like a big jigsaw puzzle, everything fits together architecturally and functionally.

MResortDuskblogThe core and essence of M Resort as Ebersole sees it? It’s comfortable. You feel comfortable here and for the most part, you’re not even sure why. The guest service is outstanding, the food is amazing, the rooms are incredibly well-appointed, and on and on. There are a million specific things you can point to that people love about M, but there’s also something wonderful which permeates this place, something you can’t see or touch, it’s something that simply is M.

Intimately Epicurean

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

There are a few hidden gems you may not know about here at M Resort. Tucked away at each of our fine dining restaurants – Marinelli’s, Terzetto and Veloce Cibo – are some spectacular private dining rooms. Each has its own distinctive style complimenting the restaurant in which it resides, and each has a spectacular view.

MarinellisPD1Marinelli’s private room offers one of the most unique light fixtures you may ever come across – the hand sculpted glass tubes a fiery red. The room features a modern glass fireplace which contrasts beautifully with the classic Marnell Family lion’s heads which grace the opposite wall. The floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the Villaggio Del Sole pool and entertainment piazza. TerzettoPD1

Terzetto’s private dining room is warm and elegant. Rich browns and creams accent the dark woods. One wall houses three stunning glass sculptures and the walls themselves are covered in beautiful travertine. Like Marinelli’s room, this private dining area also offers views of the Villaggio Del Sole piazza and Vegas beyond.

VelocePD2Perched sixteen floors above the desert floor is Veloce Cibo’s private rooms. Tucked at the far end of the restaurant, the view from these rooms definitely steal the show (until the food arrives of course). The chairs are comfortable brown leather and the unique pendant fixtures offer a soft glow. The glow of the valley and distinctive Vegas skyline make a fantastic conversation piece but might just leave you speechless too.

Remember that dining out is an experience and not just a meal. The atmosphere around you and the service you receive are just as important as the food you eat. Let’s face it, when you spend your hard earned money on a nice meal, you want everything to be just right. The next time you want to get together with a group of friends to dine for a special occasion or just want that little extra something to make the experience special, try one of our private dining rooms here at M.

Ten Off the Cuff Vol. II

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

We know you wanted another one, right? Here are 10 more off-the-cuff things we think are pretty cool at M Resort that you should know about:

The pastries at Baby Cakes are divine. Have one with your coffee, as an afternoon snack or take a big bag home or to the office. Believe us, they’re gonna love you for it.

We’ve told you a bit about the loft suites and this is definitely one of the coolest features. As if the spectacular view, immaculate room and floor-to-ceiling windows weren’t enough, the TV above the bed appears magically and tilts to just the right angle for you to watch while sprawled out in that oh-so-comfy bed.

VelocePatioblogAbove that loft suite? One of the most amazing outdoor spaces in Vegas. The patio outside Veloce’s bar and lounge is something you have to experience. Relax with some sangria and watch the sunset.

imaginerewardsblogThe iMagine Rewards Club is cool. The point system is better, the gifts are better, the staff is friendlier, the cards just look niftier….

naturallightblog

And while you’re using that card, enjoy some of that natural light in the casino. WHAT?! NATURAL LIGHT IN A CASINO?! Yup.

TerzettoTableblogBeen to Terzetto yet? It’s our steakhouse and if you’re looking for a very cool place to dine, try the feature table. “Look mom, no legs!”

HGceilingblog

When it comes to cool things suspended from the ceiling, head down to Hostile Grape. Those are thousands of slats from wine barrels which came from the Marnell winery in Napa. An artist put them together, numbered them, took them all apart, then reassembled them here at the property.

cardsblogDon’t know about you, but logoed playing cards are just cool. They scream “Vegas.”

StudioKitchenblogHopefully you’ve seen it by now, but if you haven’t, you need to check it out. It’s a restaurant, it’s a buffet, it’s a show kitchen/TV studio? Just like you’d find your favorite celeb chef in on TV, there’s a show kitchen inside Studio B with lights, cameras and plenty of cooking action with Martini Time – Vegas’ only live cooking show.

bettingstationblogSports betting at M is something you have to try. Look at the betting stations!

That’s 10! Check them out next time you visit us here at M!

10 Off-the-Cuff Vol. I

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

M Resort is full of wonderful things, many of which we’ve told you about and many more you’re yet to learn about. Every once in a while, we’re going to bring you 10 off-the-cuff things we see and think are pretty cool around the property. Here’s your first look:

What is it? Well, it’s the porte cochere of course. That’s the fancy French name (literally meaning “coach gate” or “carriage porch”) for the covered area at the main entrance where valet, taxis, etc. are located. What’s so great about this? Well, the architecture is awfully interesting, with its swooping glass roofline and integrated beams. When’s the last time you saw a porte cochere you could see through?

MSmellblogNext up we’ve got something a little difficult to capture in an image but we did our best – the M Smell. Now this is one many of you have experienced, enjoyed and commented on. As casino scents go, this one is tough to beat.

Carpetblog

Okay, okay – it’s carpet. But come on, some casino carpets out there make you positively nauseous! And while we’d never claim this one was subtle, it’s tasteful, warm, modern and fits the M just right.

CasinoChairblog

Yep, that’s a chair. What the heck is cool about a chair? Well, if you spend any time playing slots you’ll know. We didn’t shirk when it came to spending money on chairs – they’re comfy and perhaps just as important, they’re light. Ever tried to move a chair at a casino and thought it surely must be bolted to the floor? Errgh.

How about a little back-of-house for you? What’s this you ask? Looks pretty plain and boring, but it’s actually pretty cool. These are windows that allow team members to see inside the bakery finishing room. As we walk by on our day-to-day travels, we can sometimes catch a glimpse of our pastry chefs decorating those amazing cakes and desserts you see around the property.

BeerWineBuffetblogThirsty? Beer and wine is included in the price of Las Vegas’ best buffet. Enough said.

BathroomTVblog

Ah yes. If you haven’t stayed with us yet, it’s time. Why? Well the rooms are suite (and yes, we meant to misspell that!) and have some great features. That’s a TV in the mirror so you can catch up on the morning news when you’re getting ready, check the weather if you’re travelling, or perhaps not miss one minute of that late night program before you hop into that delightful bed.

SpaSculptureblog

There’s an awful lot of amazing art at M if you take a moment to stroll about and look for it. This is the sculpture outside Spa Mio. It’s just cool.

VIPCabanapoolblog

Never seen this before? Time to get yourself a VIP cabana and spend a day at the pool. That’s right, there’s a little private pool hiding at the back of them. Awesome.

TeamMembersblog

Well, we couldn’t get an image of them all, so this was the best we could come up with today. Without our Team Members, M Resort would just be a big building full of nifty stuff. With them, it’s a big building full of nifty stuff, smiles and outstanding service that will keep you coming back for more.

High Limit doesn’t mean High Roller

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

HLsalonentryblogIt seems there’s a stigma that goes along with high limit rooms in Vegas. “I must not be able to play in there.” “You have to have a ton of money to play in there.” “Only the VIPs can get in that room.” None of these are true of the high limit salon here at M Resort. Anyone can play in the high limit salon and while it’s true the limits are higher than you’d find out on the main floor, you don’t need to come walking in with a suitcase full of money (though, we’re not going to stop you either!) You can bet in the high limit salon with as little as $5. Remember, if you’re betting more, you have the opportunity to win more. And let’s be honest, every guest is a VIP at M Resort.

HLsalonroomblogThe high limit salon here at M is tucked into a quiet corner on the main floor next to Marinelli’s. You’ll see some stunning chandeliers marking the entry as well as a lovely disc of polished hardwood inlaid with our distinctive M Resort logo. The salon is elegant, but not pretentious. It’s cozy and inviting featuring warm colors and textures and an all-around comfortable atmosphere. One wall is shared with the spectacularly crimson-illuminated glass wine cellar in Marinelli’s. You’ll find another set of sparkling chandeliers above you, an inviting fireplace next to you and a smiling and helpful staff all around you. HLsalonbartopsblog

What can you play in the high limit salon? It features four bar-top electronic poker machines with $5 and $10 limits. (Yes, there’s a lovely full-bar waiting for you!) There are also a variety of table games to choose from – a midi-baccarat table with limits of $100 – $10,000 per hand, four blackjack tables with limits of $100 – $5,000 per hand (the dealer stands on soft 17 and guests can choose the “surrender” option on shoe games), and you’ll also find a single-zero roulette table with limits of $100 – $300 on inside bets and $100 – $3,000 on outside bets, not to mention a spectacular view overlooking the pool. Where else can you “bet the inside” and enjoy a view of the real outside at the same time? Need to take a break? There’s an outdoor terrace where you can relax.

HLsalonviewblogThe high limit salon is open Monday through Thursday from noon to 2 a.m. and opens at noon on Friday staying open continuously until the following Monday at 4 a.m. So next time you visit us here at M Resort, stop by the high limit salon – place a bet and enjoy the elegant comfort, high roller or average Joe.
