A resort isn't just a hotel, and it isn't just a hotel with a restaurant and a pool. A very broad definition of a resort is somewhere you go for rest and relaxation that provides a number of amenities such as a hotel, dining, entertainment and more. A resort is somewhere you can go and essentially have everything you need to rest, relax and enjoy yourself without having to go anywhere else.

Because the resort definition is fairly broad and can cover quite a number of different things, you have to do some thinking and planning when choosing the resort you want to enjoy. Here in Vegas, we have a variety of resorts. Most of them offer similar amenities - hotel, gaming, dining, entertainment, pool and spa. So how do you make your choice? Perhaps the most important question you need to ask yourself is what do you want your experience to be? Do you want the hustle and bustle of the Strip and to be surrounded by other visitors? Do you want something a bit more secluded, where you can get away from the crowd? Is somewhere with 3,000 rooms your style, or 300?

We here at M Resort of course we have an opinion and you can guess what it is. We don't have anything bad to say about our "megaresort" neighbors to the north - it wouldn't be Vegas without them. But one of the things we tried to accomplish with our property is our vision of a "true resort" - somewhere you can get away to and actually rest and relax. Don't get us wrong, there's plenty of action to be had here - from gaming and live entertainment to poolside parties. Heck, even our buffet has a lot of action! Yet M Resort allows you to experience Las Vegas at arm's length, but still offers you the ability to grab hold of Sin City and jump right in if you want.

Sometimes it's hard to enjoy a resort when there are so many other people trying to enjoy it as well. Sometimes you don't want to push your way through the crowded sidewalks. Sometimes, you want your resort to offer you rest and relaxation on top of the excitement and action. Remember, it's your vacation and you should get what you want out of it. Housekeeping is an incredibly challenging job; you have to work quickly and efficiently to get rooms cleaned in time but you also have to uphold strict service and cleanliness standards. Possessing enormous attention to detail and the ability to meet some serious deadlines takes a special kind of person.

Let’s just say we won't be quitting our day jobs anytime soon and we're awfully thankful to have Maria and the rest of the housekeeping team keeping the guest rooms here at M clean and comfy. We hope you enjoy the video.

The pastries at Baby Cakes are divine. Have one with your coffee, as an afternoon snack or take a big bag home or to the office. Believe us, they're gonna love you for it.

We've told you a bit about the loft suites and this is definitely one of the coolest features. As if the spectacular view, immaculate room and floor-to-ceiling windows weren't enough, the TV above the bed appears magically and tilts to just the right angle for you to watch while sprawled out in that oh-so-comfy bed.

Above that loft suite? One of the most amazing outdoor spaces in Vegas. The patio outside Veloce's bar and lounge is something you have to experience. Relax with some sangria and watch the sunset.

The iMagine Rewards Club is cool. The point system is better, the gifts are better, the staff is friendlier, the cards just look niftier….

And while you're using that card, enjoy some of that natural light in the casino. WHAT?! NATURAL LIGHT IN A CASINO?! Yup.

Been to Terzetto yet? It's our steakhouse and if you're looking for a very cool place to dine, try the feature table. "Look mom, no legs!"

When it comes to cool things suspended from the ceiling, head down to Hostile Grape. Those are thousands of slats from wine barrels which came from the Marnell winery in Napa. An artist put them together, numbered them, took them all apart, then reassembled them here at the property.

Don't know about you, but logoed playing cards are just cool. They scream "Vegas."

Hopefully you've seen it by now, but if you haven't, you need to check it out. It's a restaurant, it's a buffet, it's a show kitchen/TV studio? Just like you'd find your favorite celeb chef in on TV, there's a show kitchen inside Studio B with lights, cameras and plenty of cooking action with Martini Time - Vegas' only live cooking show.

What is it? Well, it's the porte cochere of course. That's the fancy French name (literally meaning "coach gate" or "carriage porch") for the covered area at the main entrance where valet, taxis, etc. are located. What's so great about this? Well, the architecture is awfully interesting, with its swooping glass roofline and integrated beams. When's the last time you saw a porte cochere you could see through?

Next up we've got something a little difficult to capture in an image but we did our best - the M Smell. Now this is one many of you have experienced, enjoyed and commented on. As casino scents go, this one is tough to beat.

Okay, okay - it's carpet. But come on, some casino carpets out there make you positively nauseous! And while we'd never claim this one was subtle, it's tasteful, warm, modern and fits the M just right.

Yep, that's a chair. What the heck is cool about a chair? Well, if you spend any time playing slots you'll know. We didn't shirk when it came to spending money on chairs - they're comfy and perhaps just as important, they're light. Ever tried to move a chair at a casino and thought it surely must be bolted to the floor? Errgh.

How about a little back-of-house for you? What's this you ask? Looks pretty plain and boring, but it's actually pretty cool. These are windows that allow team members to see inside the bakery finishing room. As we walk by on our day-to-day travels, we can sometimes catch a glimpse of our pastry chefs decorating those amazing cakes and desserts you see around the property.

Thirsty? Beer and wine is included in the price of Las Vegas' best buffet. Enough said.

Ah yes. If you haven't stayed with us yet, it's time. Why? Well the rooms are suite (and yes, we meant to misspell that!) and have some great features. That's a TV in the mirror so you can catch up on the morning news when you're getting ready, check the weather if you're travelling, or perhaps not miss one minute of that late night program before you hop into that delightful bed.

There's an awful lot of amazing art at M if you take a moment to stroll about and look for it. This is the sculpture outside Spa Mio. It's just cool.

Never seen this before? Time to get yourself a VIP cabana and spend a day at the pool. That's right, there's a little private pool hiding at the back of them. Awesome.
