2013 at the M Resort…A Year in Review

Another year has almost come and gone and with it will go some memorable highlights. Below is a review of 2013 with some of our notable events and announcements.

Seeing Stars. We started 2013 by again receiving four-star recognition by Forbes Travel Guide for our hotel and spa. Last year marked the fourth consecutive year that we’ve been honored with four stars. The recognition came on the heels of receiving the Four-Diamond award from AAA and being ranked No. 7 out of 473 hotels in Las Vegas on U.S. News & World Report’s list of Best Las Vegas Hotels. Perhaps 2014 holds even bigger awards? We certainly hope so!

The Locals’ Pool Party. DayDream was the place to be for Las Vegas locals last year with day and night swim parties like our All-American July 4th party, Pin-Up and Neon Night Swims. With temperatures currently in the 50s we’re reminiscing of warmer weather and looking forward to this year’s summer pool parties.

HPO Tournament. In June, we hosted our first successful Hollywood Poker Open Championship Event. The event sent over 200 qualifiers from 21 Penn National Gaming properties to our resort to compete for a chance at $500,000 guaranteed. The day of the event we saw over 400 players register for the tournament, increasing the field to over 600 players and boosting the prize pool to $1.4 million. Regional qualifying events are already underway for this year’s tournament in June and we’re looking forward to record attendance.

Weddings, Weddings and More Weddings. Between rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions, we hosted a record-number of weddings this year and added new custom wedding packages to our offerings. It’s easy for us to see, and say, how great our resort is for weddings but we’re happy others are noticing our beautiful venue, atmosphere and team.

A New Experience. In September we introduced our new M Experience Rooms. With 14 added amenities and services, the rooms are designed to provide a spa-like experience for optimum rest and relaxation. With mood lighting, aromatherapy and an advanced water system with a Vitamin C infused shower head, what’s not to like? Plus, these rooms come with nightly turndown service, complimentary wireless Internet, a daily newspaper in your room and the best perk of all…complimentary transportation to and from the airport. Needless to say, if you haven’t experienced them, you should.

Culinary Changes. We’ve wrote in length about our recent restaurant changes, here and here, so we won’t beat it again, but we will say Marinelli’s Pasta Bar is a must-try for a quick and casual homemade pasta experience and our newest restaurant, Jayde Fuzion has received rave reviews. Check out our Facebook page for some of the comments on the food and our new Executive Chef Seonkyoung Longest. Expect us to stir up more new and exciting culinary changes this year.

Did You Hear the Music? 2013 was a great year for our concert line-up. We had talented artists take center stage inside our Pavilion throughout the year. This year, expect us to bring back some of your favorites, like Lights Out, Sawyer Brown and 1964: The Tribute, but also add in a few new entertainers like the “Concert King of the Philippines” Martin Nievera and Dream World Cirque, with former Cirque due Soleil performers, artists and aerialists. Plus this month, we’re introducing comedy inside Ravello every Friday night…no cover!
