Tips for Hosting Last Minute Big Game Gatherings
‘Tis the season…for football fans that is. Regardless of whether you’re a Ravens fan or a 49ers fan, you’ll likely be watching this weekend’s game – if for nothing else but the commercials! We can also bet that as you’re watching you’ll likely also be noshing on some food and gathering with friends.
If you’re “lucky” enough to host one of these game-watching house parties our experienced catering team has a few tips to keep your stress in check and your hungry guests happy.
Prioritize. When you’re planning everything from the menu to the décor along with trying to tidy up your home it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Make a list of all the things you need to get accomplished and prioritize. Start today with things that can be done ahead of time and leave Sunday for the last minute prep.
Stock Up on Food. When it comes to hosting a party, it’s always better to have more than enough food than to have to run to the store because a few unexpected guests showed up. Make sure you have easy and quick bites on hand. Make an extra batch of your homemade goodies or stock up on a few store-bought items that can quickly be pulled out of the freezer and popped into the oven.
Enlist Help. We plan hundreds of parties at the M, each with hundreds of guests. Oftentimes these parties fall on the same day and even at the same time. We wouldn’t be able to handle, let alone provide the four-star service that we’re known for, without each person on our team helping one another. The same rings true for your party. Don’t do everything yourself. Ask your friends to bring a side dish, task your husband with making a specific dish or have him handle the grocery shopping.
Of course, if you’re overwhelmed, or you simply don’t want to host everyone at your home, come see us! We’ll have the game on all our television screens throughout the property and at Anthony’s Burgers & Brews we’ll be serving an all-you-can-eat buffet of Buffalo wings, Chicago dogs and more for just $25.
